Breeding readiness: benchmarks per species

The “Breeding readiness” card now compares your animal with its own species' benchmarks, and no longer asks every female for 1,200 g.

FixBreeding readiness: the minimum weight and age now come from the animal's species and sex — for example 300 g and 36 months for a female corn snake, 1,500 g and 30 months for a female ball python, 50 g and 12 months for a female leopard gecko. Before, every female was asked for 1,200 g and 24 months, every male for 600 g and 12 months.
ImprovementWhen a species has no reliable benchmark, the sex is not set or the animal has never been weighed, the card says so and shows “To assess” instead of an invented figure; thinly documented benchmarks are flagged as such.

Accurate public profiles, subscribing fixed

Your public profile tells the truth about availability and age, the terrarium card names the sex, the late badge counts right — and subscribing from the app opens the payment page again.

FixSubscribing from the app opens the payment page again: since late August, the subscription window stopped on an error. If you tried and it failed, you can try again.
FixPublic profile: the “Available” badge now only shows on an animal for sale, no longer on a reserved or sold one.
FixPublic profile: without a birth date, the age reads “Unknown” instead of “56 years” or “NaN years”.
FixPrint Studio: on the “Terrarium Card” label, the sex line starts with “Sex” again instead of an error message.
FixReptile profile: the late badge reads “1 day late” in the singular and “Today” on the day of the meal, instead of “0 days late”; the delay is counted in calendar days.
ImprovementNews by e-mail: the signup box says what you will get (our new features and offers, never ads for other brands) and how to unsubscribe. If you left it unticked, the app asks you once, after your first reptile — no is as easy as yes.
ImprovementSubscription: the subscription window tells you that you will get our news and offers by e-mail, with an “I don't want to receive them” box; a refusal you gave earlier still stands. The privacy policy describes both changes.

Family mode, breeding and export: what was missing

Females' cycles and pairings can finally be followed in the app, a reptile's history exports as CSV, you choose the role of each member of your family, and our texts only promise what the app does.

FeatureCare reminders: schedule your own reminders — UVB bulb change, deworming, a treatment… — for one reptile or the whole collection, every N days. On the day, a notification reminds you; "Done" schedules the next time. On every plan, the free one included.
FeatureQuarantine: isolate a new arrival or a sick animal from its page — first day, planned end (14, 30, 60 or 90 days in one tap) and a "Quarantine" badge on its card; the start and the end stay in its events. Without network, it is saved as soon as you are back online. New "Treatment" event type to log each treatment given. On every plan, the free one included.
FeatureCalendar (Hobbyist and Breeder plans): subscribe your Google, Apple or Outlook calendar to your collection's coming dates — next feedings, care reminders, vet visits, quarantine ends, expected hatches — from Settings → Notifications. The link is secret and you can renew or turn it off at any time.
FeaturePublic storefront (Breeder plan): a page in your name, at the address you choose, that presents your breeding and lists your reptiles for sale or reserved — each one links to its public profile. Put it online, take it offline or delete it from Settings → Family & breeding.
FeatureSales book (Breeder plan): in the new Sales tab of the breeding centre, record each sale — buyer, price, deposit and where it stands (reserved, deposit received, completed, cancelled) — and the list of people waiting for an animal. The reptile's page follows: reserved, then sold, and the price counts in the Economy tab. A sale in another currency (dollar, pound, Swiss franc, złoty) shows on its own line, never converted.
FeatureEnclosures (Hobbyist and Breeder plans): an enclosure's public page, the one the rack's QR opens, can now close on a date and ask for a password, like a reptile's profile. And it no longer shows where the enclosure is: its location stays between you and your family.
FeatureFamily mode: the owner chooses each member's role (Viewer, Editor, Admin) — a guest is no longer a viewer forever — and regenerates the invite code once it has expired.
FeatureBreeding (Breeder plan): a female's page follows her cycle — follicles, ovulation, pre-lay shed, gravid, laid — with an estimated laying date, her brumation (day and night temperatures) and her record as a layer. Her status finally feeds the "gravid" and "in brumation" counts.
FeaturePairings: under each pair, record every introduction — date, duration, lock observed, result — to keep track of the season.
FeatureReptile page: export its whole history as CSV (feedings, weighings, sheds, notes…) to keep it, open it in a spreadsheet or show it to the vet — and import a history from that file or your own spreadsheet: what is already there is not added twice. On every plan, the free one included.
FeatureBreeding: a litter from a viviparous species (sand boas, Candoia, garter snakes…) is recorded as a live birth — young born and born alive, with no incubation or hatch countdown.
ImprovementDashboard: a "Reptiles: 16 / 20" counter shows where your collection stands and turns orange as you near your plan's limit, instead of you finding out when adding a reptile.
ImprovementOur e-mails and pages no longer mention a "Premium" plan that does not exist, nor features the app does not have: they name the Hobbyist and Breeder plans, and the free plan lists the regulatory register and photo-identification, which it includes.
FixCertificates (birth, pedigree, clutch, sexing): the parents printed are those recorded in the genealogy — a female no longer appears as her own mother —, the clutch report names the sire of that clutch, the sexing method can be chosen, a failed creation says so instead of freezing the buttons, and dates no longer move back a day overseas.
FixFixes: the transfer file now says plainly when a step is not possible (instead of a server error) and regenerates its documents once prepared; in photo identification, a photo over 40 megapixels is refused with the right message, a missing shot no longer blocks the export and a lone GPS coordinate is removed too; the dashboard's weekly meal and shed counts are exact, even for a large collection; a username already taken is reported as such; "Forgot password" shows why a request was refused; the Events page opens on the space chosen on the dashboard and no longer shows the result of a month you left; deleting a reptile that is part of a pairing says what to do instead of a technical message; Polish health alerts get their plurals right.
FixMore fixes: the advanced genetics calculator shows its warnings in your language; the pedigree names relatives in the language you chose; picking a suggestion while typing a morph no longer erases what comes before a comma; the filter of active clutches no longer lists finished ones; the number of animals in an acquisition project can be retyped freely; a refused status change (breeding project, sale availability) says why; the archives of deleted reptiles load 20 at a time, older ones on request; and for safety, an entry made offline is only sent for the account that made it — signing out deletes those not sent yet.
FixAlso: a reptile's card shows its length in centimetres (a 90 cm python no longer reads "9 m"); the private label of a QR code is finally saved; in the photo viewer, an arrow key no longer skips two photos; moving a planned vet visit to another day keeps the date you picked; when creating a family fails, the name you typed is no longer lost; closing the QR scanner really turns the camera off; deleting your storefront no longer saves the form on the way; the transfer certificate no longer says "born in captivity" for a wild-caught or ranched animal; and moving from one reptile to another while an action finishes no longer applies its answer to the wrong reptile.

Better-protected shared profiles and account

The certificate follows the rules of your shared profile, your old QR codes work again, and your account holds up better against anyone trying to lock it or take it over.

ImprovementShared profile protected by a password or expired: the certificate of authenticity now follows the same rules as the profile. After 10 wrong passwords, the profile asks to wait 15 minutes before trying again.
FixThe very first printed QR codes (address in /snakes/…) open the public profile of an animal listed as public again, instead of a sign-in page.
ImprovementTen wrong passwords sent by someone else no longer lock your sign-in: only the connection the errors come from has to wait 15 minutes.
ImprovementAn e-mail lets you know when a Google account is linked to yours. If you only sign in with Google, changing your e-mail address or deleting your account requires a sign-in less than ten minutes old.
FixPedigree: a reptile can no longer become the parent of one of its own ancestors, which made the tree loop.
ImprovementE-mails about the paid plans (unfinished checkout, news) are only sent with your consent to news and offers e-mails, and each one unsubscribes in one click. The end-of-subscription e-mail no longer pushes you to subscribe again.
ImprovementYour data export (Settings) also includes the support team's notes about your account and, if you came through a partner, the record of that referral.
FixDeleting your account: the window reminds you to download your regulatory records and your data first, and an account created with Google no longer has to type a password it doesn't have.
FixReptile page, Enclosures and Settings: when loading fails (connection lost), a message says so and offers to try again, instead of claiming the reptile doesn't exist or showing an empty list. In Settings, nothing is saved over your real preferences until they have loaded.
FixConnection errors now show in your language, instead of an English "Failed to fetch" or a technical server page. The app's error page is translated too.
FixPublic page, card and QR code: the animal's sex shows in the visitor's language, and the "For sale" badge no longer appears on the QR code of an animal that isn't for sale.
FixMissing translations added: egg status and check history in incubation, the Editor and Viewer roles of family mode, gallery photos, notes and cleanings in a reptile's statistics.
FixEditing an event: if something goes wrong, the window stays open with the message instead of closing as if it had been saved. A bulk entry that fails from the dashboard now says so, and the Try again button in statistics really reloads.
ImprovementKeyboard and screen reader: the QR code sheet, the scanner, the report form, cookie preferences, the photo viewer and the avatar cropper keep the focus inside and close with Escape. In the cropper, Enter on "Cancel" cancels instead of applying the photo.
FixError messages sent by the server (plan required, two-factor authentication, invoices, password rules, invalid links…) now show in your language: about a hundred were still in French.

A layout that fits phones and tablets

Nothing spills off the side any more, buttons are easier to tap, and a reptile's profile speaks your language all the way.

ImprovementOn tablets and small laptop screens, the top bar no longer pushes the bell and your menu off the screen. On phones, the “My Reptiles” list, an enclosure's page, Settings and the Regulatory page no longer scroll sideways.
ImprovementOn phones, the actions that only appeared when hovering with a mouse are now visible: an event's ⋮ menu, deleting a photo or a notification. Close buttons and the buttons on a reptile's profile are bigger.
ImprovementThe transfer, delete, family and egg-tracking windows no longer run off a phone screen: their content scrolls and their buttons stay within reach. The transfer, delete and family windows also close with the Escape key.
FixReptile profile: the sex shows in your language, the age reads “1 year” in the singular and “Unknown” without a birth date, in the PDF export too. Feedings show the status, prey type and prey size in your language.

A trash for your reptiles, recovery codes for your account

A deleted reptile can be restored for 30 days and its regulatory paperwork stays archived, two-factor authentication gets recovery codes, and signing in with Google now asks for your code.

FeatureReptile trash: a deleted reptile is no longer erased on the spot. It stays in the trash for 30 days — the “Trash” button then shows at the top of your collection — and you can restore it with its whole history.
FeatureThe register, markings, declared events and transfer files of a deleted reptile stay archived for at least 5 years after it is deleted. You'll find them at the bottom of the Regulatory page, with the transfer documents ready to download.
FeatureTwo-factor authentication: when you turn it on, you get 10 single-use recovery codes to sign in if you lose your phone. Settings → Security shows how many you have left and lets you generate new ones; if your two-factor authentication was already on, generate them there now.
FixSigning in with Google: if two-factor authentication is on for your account, you are now asked for your code after Google, just like after a password. A recovery code works too.

The Prey tab leaves ReptiNode

Prey stock and the meal plan are gone for good. Your animals' feeding records don't change.

ImprovementThe “Prey” tab — stock, rations, meal plan and orders —, hidden since 7 September, is removed for good, along with the data saved in it and the stock alerts (running low, best-before). The meals logged on your animals' profiles (date, prey, weight, refusals) are untouched.
ImprovementThe thawing reminder still arrives a few hours before the usual mealtime; it now names the prey of the last meal logged.

All your notifications, switched on

Reminders and alerts switched on for everyone, and two optional boxes at signup to get our news by e-mail.

ImprovementEvery follow-up notification is now on for every account: feeding, shed and vet reminders, health alerts and service e-mails. If you had switched some off, they are back on: you can switch them off again at any time in Settings → Notifications.

Our e-mails, no surprises

The unsubscribe link finally does exactly what it says, measuring whether our e-mails are opened becomes your choice, and our automatic e-mails arrive in your language.

FixThe “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of our news e-mails stops those e-mails, and only those: until now it turned off your reminder e-mails (feeding, sheds, vet) without even stopping the news. Links received before this update stop both, to be safe.
FeatureSettings → Notifications: “Open measurement of our e-mails”, off by default. If you accept it, an invisible pixel tells us that a news e-mail was opened — without us recording who opened it. Otherwise our e-mails no longer carry any. You can withdraw it there, or in one click at the bottom of each of those e-mails.
FixOur automatic e-mails (welcome, reminders, nudges…) always arrive in your language: some could arrive in French.

The genetics calculator becomes a decision tool

A pairing is weighed before you own both animals, and decided in eggs rather than percentages. The calculator now takes a parent you are considering, turns every outcome into eggs of a real clutch, shows the Punnett square behind each number, and a computed cross can be pinned to the pairing it is about.

FeatureA parent you do not own yet: describe its morph and the calculator reads it like one of your animals, without adding it to your collection. It is the calculation you make before a purchase, a loaned male or a show.
ImprovementPicking the parents: a search over name, species and morph with each animal’s photo, and only the species of the parent already picked — no more two-hundred-line dropdown mixing every species.
FeatureResults: a clutch size (pre-filled from the species) turns every percentage into expected eggs, small odds also read as "1 chance in N", visuals are listed apart from carriers, and Punnett squares show where each number comes from. One button copies it all as text.
FeatureA computed cross can be pinned to its pairing: it shows in Reproduction next to the couple, and the crosses already saved serve as your history — no need to select everything again at each visit.
ImprovementAnimal forms (adding and editing): each faulty field is flagged where it is, with the cursor taken to the first one, and closing a form you started asks before discarding it. The birth date is no longer required when editing, and a mistyped weight or length is refused instead of being sent to the server.
FixA reptile’s genetics are read against its species registry even when its name is written differently from the catalog, and two animals of one species written two ways are no longer refused as a cross-species pairing.

Photos open above everything

A photo opened from the dashboard’s recent events sat under the top bar and let the page scroll behind it. It now opens the way it does from a reptile’s Photos tab: above the whole page.

An enclosure’s public page finally shows who lives there

The QR of a terrarium opened a “no reptile” page as soon as its occupants were not public. The page now lists every reptile of the enclosure, and it was redesigned.

ImprovementThat page was redesigned (header, occupant cards, translated “private enclosure” and “invalid link” states), and an “unlisted” enclosure is no longer indexed by search engines.
FixAfter a site update, a tab left open could land on an error page when clicking a link (in the footer, say). The page now reloads by itself with the new version, and Back really leaves the error page.

Enclosures and regulatory, rebuilt

Enclosures & racks finally have real pages: the list shows who lives where, and every enclosure has its own address with its occupants, its QR code and its sharing settings. Regulatory sits in the top bar on every page, and its screen was redesigned.

FeatureEnclosures & racks: a new list (the occupants’ faces, search, filter by type, counters) and one page per enclosure, reachable by its address. A reptile moves from one rack to another in one click, and unhoused reptiles are placed straight from the list.
FeatureEnclosure page: the visibility (private, unlisted, public) is picked right there, with the QR code shown, the link to copy, the QR to download as PNG and the number of occupants actually visible on the public page.
Improvement“Regulatory” is in the navigation bar of every page, not only at the bottom of the menu, and the page has the same header as the rest of the app: one click brings you back.

The genetics calculator reads your morphs like a breeder

A BEL crossed with a normal no longer answers “100 % normal”. The calculator now understands super forms, the trade names (BEL, Ivory, Killer Bee, Purple Passion…), the “het” and “66 % het” written in the morph field, and it crosses allelic complexes as one locus: a Lesser Mojave passes one allele, not two.

FixA BEL — or any super form: Super Mojave, Ivory, White Diamond… — typed in the morph field was read as a wild-type animal. It is now read as two alleles, and every hatchling gets one.
FeatureAllelic complexes (BEL, Yellow Belly, 8-Ball, Spider, Fire, Albino/Candy, Clown/Cryptic…) are crossed as one locus with several alleles: no more impossible “Super Mojave Lesser”, and Lesser Mojave × normal gives 50 % Lesser / 50 % Mojave.
FeatureIn an animal's record, the morph you type (“Super Pastel 66% het Pied”, “Killer Bee”, “BEL”…) is read the way the calculator will, for every species: each gene shows up with its zygosity, fixed in one click, and for a complex such as “BEL” you pick the two alleles. The field suggests the registry's names, the “Locus” list fills itself in, and the record only shows the fields the species has a use for (morph, traits, locality). That genotype is what the calculator reads first — including for animals imported or saved before, which the server re-read.
ImprovementThe calculator shows what it read for each parent, flags the words it did not understand and warns when a bare “BEL” was assumed to be Lesser + Mojave.
ImprovementPython regius registry reviewed: named combos finally taken into account (Bumblebee, Pewter, Killer Bee…), Butter and Honey added to the BEL complex, Super Russo = White Diamond, Clown + Cryptic = Crypton, and a dozen phantom genes removed.

Our emails arrive, or we tell you

When an address can no longer receive our messages — a typo at signup, a closed mailbox — the app now notices on its own, stops writing into the void, and shows you how to fix it. And at signup, we catch the typo before it costs you an account.

FeatureIf our emails bounce back, a banner in your account says so, with a button to change your address in two clicks. Sending resumes as soon as the new address is confirmed.
FeatureAt signup the address is checked while you type: the classic typos (gmial.com, gmail.fr, outlok.com…) are spotted and fixed with one click, and a domain that receives no email is flagged before the account is created.
ImprovementAfter signing up, your address is shown prominently with a “not the right address?” link until it has been confirmed.
FixDelivery reports sent by mail servers are now read and acted upon. One of them had been looping in the support mailbox for a week with nothing flagging it.
ImprovementAccounts that were never confirmed, with no subscription and no data at all, are removed after 90 days — in line with GDPR data minimisation.

Signing up works again, and errors explain themselves

Two bugs were stopping some of you from creating an account, mostly on iPhone. Both are fixed — and when something is refused now, the screen tells you which field to fix, in your own language, instead of showing a technical message.

FixSign in with Google on iPhone: after picking your Google account you landed on a blank page. A security header on the site was stopping the Google window from sending its answer back — invisible on Chrome, blocking on Safari. Fixed.
FixEmail sign-up: an invisible space stuck to your address (iOS autofill adds one), an advertising identifier too long for visitors arriving from an ad, or an old referral link left in storage could all sink the whole sign-up. None of the three can block anything any more.
ImprovementError messages: no more “Bad Request Exception”. The form now outlines the field to fix and says what is wrong with it, in all seven site languages.

Major Update

Take back control of your devices

You can now see every device signed in to your account and sign out just one of them, leaving the others alone. Family collections also get invite codes that expire and shared enclosures.

FeatureSigned-in devices: Settings → Security lists the devices using your account (browser, system, city, last activity) and signs any of them out in one click. No more changing your password to remove a single device — the one you are on stays signed in.
ImprovementFamily invite codes now expire after 7 days and can be regenerated at any time. A code forgotten in an old conversation no longer opens your collection.
FeatureFamily-shared enclosures: an enclosure can belong to the family, visible to every member and editable by the Owner, Admin and Editor roles.
ImprovementFamilies are capped at 10 members, and the limit is stated up front instead of failing at the invitation.

ReptiNode follows you into the reptile room

This release makes the app usable without network, gives your history a real calendar and completes the regulatory tracking of your animals. Under the hood, dozens of details were revisited: error messages in your language, dates and numbers in your country's format, encrypted and monitored backups on the operations side.

FeatureOffline mode: the app opens without network with your latest data, and the meals or sheds you log in the reptile room are kept waiting and sent as soon as the connection is back. A banner shows the status and the sync.
FeatureA calendar for your events: the Events page gets a month view with the detail of each day, next to a list that is now filtered and searched server-side and loaded page by page — no more waiting on large collections.
FeatureRegulatory tracking completed from the Identification tab: marking (method, number, date), entry/exit register, and declaration of a death, a theft or a change of address. An animal's death can also be declared from the delete menu.
